Terms of Service

Last updated: July 7, 2026

The short version: SnipSound is free to use. Our tools run in your browser — your files are never uploaded. The music we provide is free to use in your videos and other content under the license shown for each track. The service is provided “as is,” and you’re responsible for how you use it.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using SnipSound (the website at snipsound.com, its tools, its royalty-free music library, and our AI-assistant connector), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What SnipSound provides

SnipSound offers free, in-browser audio and video tools (such as trimming, converting, effects, transcription and editing) and a library of royalty-free music. Most features are free and run entirely in your browser. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may offer optional paid features in the future. The service is provided free of charge and “as is.”

3. Your files and content

You keep all rights to the files you process. Our tools process your files locally in your browser — they are not uploaded to us (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to any file you upload or process, and for how you use the results.

4. Music licensing

The music in our library is provided for you to use for free, subject to the license indicated on each track or library page. In general you may use our tracks in your videos, streams, podcasts, and social-media content. You may not resell or redistribute the tracks as standalone audio files, claim them as your own original work, or register them with a content-ID or rights-management system. Some tracks are the artist’s own works offered under specific terms (for example “social-media free”); the permitted uses shown on the track or library page govern. If a track’s license and these terms differ, the track’s license controls for that track.

5. Acceptable use

Please use SnipSound lawfully and reasonably. Do not: use the service to create or distribute unlawful, infringing, or harmful content; attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure; or abuse our free tools or connector (including automated bulk access beyond ordinary use).

6. AI-assistant connector

We provide a music connector (an MCP server at mcp.snipsound.com) that lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude search our free-music library and link you back to SnipSound. Your use of the connector is subject to these terms and to the terms of the assistant you use. What the connector receives and how it handles data is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

The SnipSound name, logo, website, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These terms don’t grant you any rights to them beyond using the service as intended. The music is licensed to you as described in Section 4, not sold.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or uninterrupted operation. We do not guarantee that a given track will clear every possible use (for example, monetization rules on a specific platform) — you are responsible for confirming your final use meets your needs and the applicable platform’s rules.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SnipSound and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or content, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Because the service is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to the amount you paid us for it, which is typically nothing.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision, and continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
