Is the free tool going away?

No — the in-browser tool stays free forever. Pro is an optional add-on for when you need top accuracy or fast turnaround on long files.

Why is Pro in the cloud and not my browser?

The most accurate Whisper model (large-v3) is too heavy to run quickly on most phones and laptops. Running it on cloud GPUs is what makes it both accurate and fast.

What happens to my files & my privacy?

Free stays 100% on your device. With Pro you choose: have your file deleted the moment it's transcribed, or keep it (and its transcript) saved in your Pro cloud library to revisit anytime. Uploads are always encrypted, and the free tool is always there if you want nothing to leave your device.

How is Pro priced?

Two ways: pay-as-you-go credits at 1¢ a minute in $5 packs (they never expire), or a $9/month plan at half that rate — 0.5¢ a minute, about 30 hours of audio — that you can cancel anytime. Our cost to run it is a few cents an hour, so both are comfortably sustainable.
