About 3GP to MP4 conversion
3GP is the video format older mobile phones recorded, and some messaging apps still use it. Many modern players and editors will not open it. Converting 3GP to MP4 here repackages newer files into MP4 without re-encoding. Older phone videos use codecs modern devices do not support, so those are converted to H.264 with AAC audio instead.
How to convert 3GP to MP4
- Drag your 3GP file onto the page, or click to browse. It stays on your device.
- Click Convert to MP4. The first run downloads FFmpeg (about 25 MB); after that it is fast.
- Most files are repackaged without re-encoding. If one cannot be, it is re-encoded to H.264 instead, which takes longer.
- Preview the MP4 on the page, then download or share it. No watermark, no sign-up.
What people use it for
- Old phone videos. Rescue clips from a feature phone or early smartphone.
- Messaging app videos. Convert 3GP clips so they play on a computer.
- Family archives. Bring old recordings into an MP4 library.
- Editing apps. Import an MP4 where a 3GP is refused.
