Free Online Vocal Tuner
Sing or play a note and see exactly which pitch you're hitting — and how sharp or flat — in real time. No app, no sign-up.
How do I tune my voice online for free?
100% in your browser. The microphone stream is analyzed on your device and never uploaded — we can't even access it ourselves. Privacy policy.
To tune your voice online free: click Start tuning, allow microphone access, then sing a steady note. The big letter shows the nearest note, and the needle shows whether you're sharp (right) or flat (left). When the note turns green and the needle is centered, you're in tune.
How the vocal tuner works
SnipSound's tuner uses a pitch-detection algorithm called YIN that runs entirely in your browser — no machine learning, no server, no cost. It listens to the fundamental frequency of your voice or instrument, finds the nearest musical note, and measures how many cents (hundredths of a semitone) you're off. It's accurate for singing, guitar, piano, violin, wind instruments, and more across a wide range.
Why use a browser tuner?
Unlike tuner apps you have to install, this works instantly on any phone or laptop and keeps your microphone audio entirely on your device. Pair it with our Key Finder to find a song's key, or the Pitch Shifter to move a track up or down.
FAQ
Is the vocal tuner free?
Yes — completely free, no sign-up, no limits. It runs in your browser at zero cost.
Does my microphone audio get uploaded?
No. The audio is analyzed locally with the Web Audio API and never leaves your device.
Can I tune instruments too, not just voice?
Yes. It detects pitch from any monophonic source — guitar, piano, violin, flute, etc. Play one note at a time for the clearest reading.
What does "cents" mean?
A cent is 1/100th of a semitone. 0 cents means perfectly in tune; negative is flat, positive is sharp. Within ±5 cents is considered in tune.
Why does it need microphone permission?
To hear the note you're singing or playing. Your browser asks once; you can revoke it anytime in site settings.
