Free Teleprompter That Follows Your Voice
Paste your script and read. It scrolls as you speak, waits when you pause, and records your voice as you go. Or set the speed yourself. It's free with no sign-up, and your voice is never uploaded.

How to use this online teleprompter
- Paste your script. The page shows how many words it is and about how long it takes to read.
- Choose how it moves. Follow my voice, Set speed or Scroll myself.
- Press Start and read from the line under the marker. Lost your place? Click the word you are on.
- Keep your recording. Press Finish & save, then play it, download an MP3 or throw it away.
How the teleprompter follows your voice
Follow my voice makes this a voice-activated teleprompter. It listens through your microphone and recognises the words you read, on your device, so the script moves while you talk and waits when you stop to breathe, think or ad-lib. The line you are on sits just under the marker. Skip a word or misread one and it keeps up. Your voice is never uploaded.
On a short script it stays within a few words of your voice. A laptop with a graphics card keeps up best; on one without, the speech engine runs behind you, so a long read can scroll ahead of you.
Prefer a steady scroll? Set speed moves the script at 90 to 220 words a minute, and Hear it reads the first words at that pace. Scroll myself leaves it to you. Mirror flips the text for a teleprompter glass.
Fit the script to your screen
On a computer the script starts in a card on the page. Press Expand and it takes the whole window and follows its size. Drag the edges of the column to set how wide the lines are: a narrow column keeps your eyes closer to the camera. Full screen then fills the screen, and Collapse takes you back to the card.
Lost your place? Click the word you are on and the script moves there. Restart goes back to the first word and, if you are recording, starts a new take in place of the old one.
Record while you read
Leave Record my voice on and the teleprompter records you while you read, in any of the three modes. Press Finish & save to play the recording, download it as an MP3 or throw it away. The recording stays on your device and is never uploaded. Turn Record my voice off if you only want the script to scroll. For a transcript and a check against your script, use the free Voice Recorder.
It records audio, not video. To film yourself, read from this page while your camera records.
What people use a teleprompter for
- Videos: read to the camera for YouTube or social clips. Put the window as close to the lens as you can, and record the sound here or with the camera.
- Voiceovers and podcasts: read your script and download the MP3, then trim it or bring it into the video editor.
- Speeches and presentations: rehearse at your own pace, and check the length first with the speaking time calculator.
- Video calls: choose Set speed and turn off Record my voice. The page then leaves your microphone to the call.
- Teleprompter glass: Mirror flips the text for a beam-splitter rig.
